The return of the Miles in the shape and form of the Miles Lite in spring 2018 was very well received! The Miles Lite is designed with a new, and significantly lighter and softer upper, and a new foam that provides great cushioning and improved energy return. Miles Lite is designed to take the pounding of the asphalt and concrete miles - providing ample cushioning for the long distance runner, while staying true to our ideals.
The distance from heel to the ball of foot (62% of the shoe) has been designed with extra stability, which ends in the so-called “ballet” line, a 75° angle. In front of the 75° line, we have equipped the shoe with greater flexibility to stimulate the foot’s natural movements. The TGS 62/75° feature assures that the shoe bends in exactly the right places, stimulating the foot’s natural lateral and forward movements.
Elements has a more roomy toe box compared to its trail sibling, the Salming Trail, in order to provide a possibility for the fore foot to expand properly in the landing phase, making it more effective in a biomechanic perspective.
The drop is 4mm (The difference in height between center heel and centre fore foot, midsole and outsole included) in order to facilitate a good posture and minimise the risk of twisting your ankles.
Responsive without being overly supportive – The Torsion Efficiency Unit™ brings sturdiness to the shoe. It is appropriately placed to generate maximal running efficiency.
The material in the midsole is a newly developed compound named RECOIL™ which absorbs negative impact forces and releases a higher rebound energy effect in the toe off phase.
A cushioning compound featured in the heel impact zone designed to reduce impact forces. The SoftFOAM™ heel insert area has 70% better shock absorbing properties than standard EVA midsole. The RECOIL™ and SoftFOAM™ combined - creates a sandwich construction made to maximize your performance.
Our heel cup is specifically designed to add minimal weight to your shoes, creating a transformable, adaptive fit.
